EA Releases SPY Mouse into the Market

General

Electronic Arts put out an interesting Android game yesterday called SPY Mouse that lets players take on villainous cats as a super-secret spy who just happens to be a mouse. You’ll have to sneak your way through the levels collecting cheese while always keeping an eye out for cats and other hazards…

Your goal in the game is to make it from one end of the level to the other while collecting cheese and avoiding the countless cats. The way you’ll do this is by tracing the path you want the mouse to travel with your finger, and then you just watch him go. Paths can be altered as you’ll quickly learn when a cat catches sight of you and comes running. Speaking of the cats, they are on paths as well and while I found it easy overall to avoid them, it did get trickier as the levels progressed. SPY Mouse is more than just a simple cat & mouse game though; you can get power-ups, find secret rooms, and you’ll also get some boss battles which is never a bad thing. As for the levels, there are around 70 or so spread out across 6 different colorful worlds. The game as a whole really looks great and it’s a game anyone can pick up and play.

I’ve only played through the first two worlds and while it’s been fun, I wish it was a little harder. I was able to burn through the levels pretty quickly, but if you like getting all the medals and best times there will be some depth in that area. Overall, SPY Mouse is a fun puzzle game that’s simple to play and a game that’s family friendly as well. No free version is available at this time, but you can get the full version of SPY Mouse for $0.99 cents in the Android market.
