AION 2 SOARS TO TWITCH STARDOM AS GLOBAL LAUNCH DOMINATES STREAMING CHARTS
NCSoft’s long-awaited MMORPG sequel launches globally today, October 5, 2026, on PC via Steam and the publisher’s Purple launcher, and the numbers are already telling a remarkable story. The game has accumulated over 12.1 million hours watched on Twitch with a peak of 253,307 viewers, representing a massive surge in viewership that has propelled it into the platform’s top tier.
The hype isn’t just talk. AION 2 reached an all-time peak of 171,530 simultaneous Steam players during early access, with subsequent peaks remaining above 137,000, making these figures especially impressive considering everyone playing required a paid Founder’s Pack. More than 4,300 Steam reviews have produced a Mostly Positive rating, with approximately 76% recommending the game. Even more telling, reviews from players with over 10 hours reach 86% positive, suggesting the game improves significantly once you push past the opening hours.
Built in Unreal Engine 5, AION 2 has been available in South Korea and Taiwan since November 19, 2025, and now Western players can finally experience the aerial combat and faction warfare that made the original a phenomenon. Players are praising the detailed character creator, large fantasy environments, action combat, and unrestricted flight.
