A Review of NFL Flick Quarterback for Android

General

NFL Flick Quarterback is great Football game from Full Fat Productions the masters of everything flick. Full Fat came out with Flick Golf a little while back and it’s been one of the best funnest games I’ve played this year. Flick Soccer was their follow-up and while it’s good game, it just didn’t have the depth of their previous release. Their newest entry in the flick genre lets you flick the pigskin like the has been great so far as it lets you suit up and fling the pigskin like the Pros.

The first thing you’ll do when you fire up the game is pick your favorite team, add the name of your choice to the back of the jersey and add your number. If you’ve never played a Flick game it’s a blast once you get the hang of it as you’ll simply flick your finger on the screen to throw a pass. Once the ball is in the air you can adjust the path of the ball by swiping left or right; you can also swipe up or down to take a little off a throw or add a little length. This comes in handy as you’ll need to have a little finesse as the stages get tougher. You can also pan around the field by swiping the top of the screen left or right which is great in Playmaker mode.

NFL Flick Quarterback has 4 modes of play with Basic Skills, Playmaker, Trick Shot, and Trick Shot XL. Basic Skills is pretty self explanatory as it teaches you the game while Playmaker (my favorite mode) has you completing passes against the defense. Trick shot & Trick shot XL has you throwing into buckets, and toppling them. In the extras department you get to see you get stats and achievements. The game keeps track of your stats for each mode and there are around 30 different achievements to unlock. You can also raise your ranking from a lowly Rookie to a Hall of Famer by scoring and earning XP as you progress through the game.

I’ve reviewed all of Full Fat’s Flick games and while Flick Golf is my favorite, NFL Flick Quarterback comes in a strong second. As a football fan I was looking forward to this game, and it didn’t disappoint. The graphics are great and all the animations are very well done. The gameplay is just as simple as their previous games, and while all three game modes are fun Playmaker is the standout of the bunch in my opinion. I do wish there was a little more variety in the Trick Shot stages, maybe throw at some different targets or something, but that’s really the only part I felt was a little. Overall it’s a great game, and one any football (or flick) fan will enjoy. You can grab NFL Flick Quarterback in the Android market for $2.99.
