GEARS OF WAR: E-DAY
The Coalition has officially announced that Gears of War: E-Day goes live October 6, 2026, with early access beginning October 1 for Premium Edition owners. The game has officially gone gold, clearing the final milestone before launch and signaling that one of Xbox’s most iconic franchises is about to return in spectacular fashion.
E-Day returns to the atmosphere and emotional tone of the original Gears of War, recapturing the brotherhood, brutality, and tragedy of Emergence Day. Built in Unreal Engine 5, the game introduces expanded destruction systems, dynamic environmental damage, and enhanced gore effects that push the series into its most visceral chapter yet. The second open beta in August reached 22,084 concurrent Steam players, breaking the series’ Steam record, demonstrating that fans are hungry for this brutal return to form.
E-Day has surpassed 120,000 copies sold on Steam, generating more than $7 million in revenue before launch, and the game will be available day one with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. The campaign supports four-player online cooperative play and two-player split-screen co-op, while multiplayer includes 4v4 competitive matches and a new twelve-player cooperative mode titled Horde Siege.
