WARDOGS Dominates Steam Charts as Launch Day Arrives

Nearly 500,000 total players tried Wardogs during its recent beta testing phases, with the September 3 playtest climbing to a peak of 162,488 concurrent players on Steam. That’s bigger than Modern Warfare 4’s beta and rivals last year’s ARC Raiders phenomenon. What makes these figures even more impressive is the access model: nearly two hundred thousand simultaneous players from behind a paywall, since guaranteed beta access required a pre-order.
Wardogs is a multiplayer first-person shooter MilSim simulation video game inspired by King of the Hill that features player versus player and can support up to 100-player servers. The hook lies in its persistent economy system where teamwork literally pays, and 100 players split into three teams fight for a 2×2 kilometre territory across a 256-square-kilometre sandbox map.
WARDOGS officially passed one million Steam wishlists ahead of the August beta and September Early Access launch, cementing its position as one of fall 2026’s must-watch releases.
