Some games require you to swipe, while others have to you tap like a fool or give you virtual d-pads. Captain Thumb from Phalanx One Games takes a different approach to things as it’s a space shooter that only relies on your thumbs.
Captain Thumb isn’t your typical space shooter for a couple of reasons. For starters there is no ship. That’s right, your “thumb” works as your ship, while your other thumb on the other side of the screen controls the direction of your fire. It may be a little much to wrap your head around at first, but once you see it in action and get a feel for things it’s a lot of fun. Captain Thumbs offers up a Campaign mode with 5 big boss battles, but there also an Infinity mode that offers up endless gameplay for as long as you can stay alive.
Captain Thumb is an interesting game to say the least and it’s by far the most original space shooter we’ve seen in a while.
