Prepare for Air with EA Sports NBA Jam for Android

General

Overview

Fans of classic gaming got something to cheer about this week as EA Sports released the awesomeness known as NBA Jam for Android. Everything you know and love about the original is present in this release, so free up some time and get ready to BOOMSHAKALAKA on your opponents dome as we take a quick look at NBA Jam.

I’ll start by saying I spend a large amount of money playing this at the arcade when I was a kid, and again at random gas stations when I got older and found a machine. You may be thinking, “how can you play such a game on a touchscreen?” Well, it does take a little getting used to but once you get the hang of things its rather easy. I’ve tried it out on an old Captivate (still running!) and a tablet, it ran great on both and was easy to play. I’m going to save all the juicy parts for my full review, but I will say that NBA Jam has 3 different modes and a slew of unlockable characters like Larry Bird, Magic, Dominique and many, many more. I didn’t notice Jordan, but I didn’t look that hard either although I’m pretty sure he won’t be in there. Lebron and D-Wade are unstoppable though in case you were wondering…

Verdict

If you played the original there is no doubt you’ll want to get this and if you’ve never played NBA Jam you don’t know what you’re missing. It’s the best big-headed basketball game ever and EA did a great job of bringing it over to Android. If you want to ball with the best you can pick up NBA Jam for $4.99 on Google Play.
