Flying in under the radar and making me say “WTF” is a little game from Konami & Gree called Metal Gear Solid Social Ops. Yup, it’s your old pal Solid Snake and he’s finally made his way to Android for some ass-kicking fun.
Metal Gear Solid Social Ops drops you into the Metal Gear universe where you’ll play as solid snake and get to send troops into glorious 3D battles. Sounds great doesn’t it? Well… it’s a social-based card battling game which means you’ll collect cards and use them in battle against your foes. There’s also mention of fighting together with friends and they use the words “big bosses” several times so I’m hoping we’ll see Metal Gear Rex or some of his brethren.
I’m a huge Metal Gear Fan and have played most of the games in the series, so I was a little shocked to find this one sitting in the play store. I’m not sure how the whole social aspect and card battling system will work, but I’m pretty curious to find out.
