Gamevil has put out several games in its Colosseum series and they added another one recently with Colosseum Defense.The previous games in the series had you take on your enemy on the battlefield whereas Colosseum Defense switches things up by putting you to work defending a castle.
Not sure what the back story is behind Colosseum Defense, but we’ll just say it’s about a boy and his cannon. Each stage puts you on top of the castle wall with your mighty cannon as your only weapon. Lucky for you your cannon is pretty deadly and can shoot things like daggers and ice axes. You simply need to “tap to kill”, but you’ll need nerves of steel when the enemies get heavy and you start having to deal with Boss battles. As with most games of this nature there are quite a few upgrades available. There are several unlockable types of ammunition, each piece of ammo is upgradable, and there are unlockable characters as well. You’ll be able to buy some things with cash earned from within the game, but other things will cost you via the dreaded IAP setup.
Colosseum Heroes is a cool little castle defense game, and a nice addition to the series. The gameplay is fast-paced and can feel a bit like a grind at time, but overall it’s a solid game that fans of the Colosseum games should enjoy.
