While I was unconscious from playing Ghost Recon Future Soldier (great game)on the PS3 a game folks have been waiting for finally dropped with Gameloft’s N.O.V.A. 3. If you’ve been waiting to enter the world of N.O.V.A. the wait is over, but was it really worth the wait?
If you’re unfamiliar with Gameloft’s FPS franchise, N.O.V.A is a first person shooter set in a futuristic world and you play the hero Kal Wardin who has to save mankind once again. The storyline picks up 4 months after the events of N.O.V.A. 2 and you’ll get to fight it out in 10 different levels from Earth to Volterite city. You’ll get to drive futuristic vehicles, run, shoot, and even drive a mech which is pretty damned cool in itself because who doesn’t like Mech’s? N.O.V.A. 3 also has a nice online multiplayer setup with 6 different modes on 6 different maps. One new feature to note is the ability to get inside the same vehicle as your comrades so you can all reap a little destruction together as you tear across the battlefields.
Verdict
If you’ve played HALO or Gears of War you’ll find yourself right at home with Gameloft’s N.O.V.A. 3, and after giving it a quick run I can tell you first hand that it’s just as good as the previous other 2 games in the series if not better. It’s a great looking game as well so if you’ve got a high-end device you’ll definitely want to show N.O.V.A. 3 off to your friends. If you’re ready to give it a run you can find Gameloft’s N.O.V.A. 3 on Google Play for $6.99.
