As reported last week Rovio teased their fans with the possibility of a Star Wars Angry Birds game, and today we found out what’s up. On November 8th you will be able to fling Star Wars themed birds towards those big, bad piggies who will be supported the Dark Side.
Star Wars Angry Birds looks to be the stuff of geek dreams, and here’s what we know so far. According to Paul Southern VP of licensing for Lucasfilm the birds won’t just be “dressed up” as Star Wars characters, but will be characters in their own right. We know that Red Bird will be transformed into Luke Skywalker as an X-Wing Pilot from Star Wars IV: A New Hope and other characters like Vader, Chewbacca, Han Solo, and Obi-Wan will have be in the game as well. We also know that the game will use the physics from Angry Birds Space, and we’ll get to see places like Hoth as well. Can you say awesome?
I actually haven’t been excited about an Angry Birds game since Angry Birds seasons was first released, but Angry Birds Star Wars definitely has my attention. The game certainly sounds insanely awesome, and its right in time for Christmas as you know there will be a TON of Angry Birds Star Wars merchandise on the shelves this year.
