If you’re a fan of The Walking Dead, last night’s episode was a bit of a shocker. If you’re looking for something to ease the pain of last night’s loss we’ve got just the thing for you with a new Android game called The Walking Dead: Dead Reckoning.
The Walking Dead: Dead Reckoning puts you right into the story as… Shane! Yup, you get to play as crazy, emotional (and deadly) Shane and you’re job will be to stay alive while you try and protect some survivors. If you’re expecting a shootem’ up you’ll be very disappointed as The Walking Dead: Dead Reckoning plays out like a “choose your own adventure” book. The whole game is laid out Comic Book style and as you progress through the game you’ll have to make decisions that will affect the people you meet. Every action you take will have consequences, and if you know the show you’ll know that Shane can make some boneheaded decisions. There is a status button that updates you on what’s happening and gives you color coded alerts on different individuals you’ve encountered in the game
Verdict
The Walking Dead: Dead Reckoning is a cool little game and very well-timed considering who they chose for its main role. It’s not what I expected, but it’s a lot better than I expected as the game does a great job of putting you into the role of Shane. If you are a fan of the show you MUST go download this game, and if you’re a Shane fan you’ll be happy to see this release. This may be a “one and done” game, but I sincerely hope that AMC will put out other chapters of the game using different characters from the show. The Walking Dead: Dead Reckoning is free to download, but you won’t get it on Google Play as it’s only available on the Amazon App store.
