StarCaptain is a new Android game from Number Twentyfive entertainment that puts you to work as the captain of a starship. Being an interplanetary captain is great and all, but only if you’ve got enough fuel which is where the fun comes in.
Your job is StarCaptain is to help Capn’ Gloof keep his ship in the air and you’ll do this by using stars. You’ve probably heard the phrase ‘swinging on a star’ well StarCaptain lets you jump on them and use them for fuel. Controlling your ship is made easy as you’ll simply need to touch left or right to move in that direction and with the goal of hitting a star and bouncing to the next. Each star can only be used once before disappearing unless it’s got an eye in which case it can be used twice. You’ll also encounter a few obstacles as well in the form of black holes and red stars. StarCaptain offers up 2 different worlds with a whopping 70 levels to go through, and it has a very cool style to boot.
I did play StarCaptain briefly and while it wasn’t anything like I expected it was still quite a bit of fun. It will probably take you a few minutes to get the timing down, but once you do you’ll be hopping across the stars as quick as you please. Even though it’s a small thing I really liked the way the levels are laid out; I won’t spoil it but I will say it gives you a unique perspective on things. There’s no demo available of StarCaptain at this time, but you can get the full version for $1.49 on Google Play.
