We knew it was coming and now it’s here as Gameloft has just released The Amazing Spider-Man for Android. As a fan, I’m torn about the new direction of the franchise; I loved Tobey as Spidey and think if they were going to “reboot” it they should’ve waited a while at least. The Amazing Spider-Man game lets you take on thugs and super-villains while you fight and web-sling your way across NYC. As this is the “official” game it follows the movie storyline which also means you’re going to meet the Lizard and his henchmen. The game offers 25 immersive missions set in figure different districts including good old Central Park. You can also upgrade spidey’s attacks and customize his style. Yup, it’s pretty damned cool and as good as the gameplay is the graphics are even better. If you have a high end device this is a game you’ll want to own, and it’s a game you’ll show off to your friends.
Verdict
I know I’ve been vague about the game, but this is one of the few times I want people to experience it for themselves without spoiling anything. I was really impressed with this one and the seething rage I used to feel for Gameloft is slowly subsiding, especially when they keep putting out top-notch games like this. The Amazing Spider-Man is pricy coming in at Gameloft’s standard $6.99, but its well worth it in my opinion. If you’re ready to swing across the city as everyone’s favorite web-slinger head on over to Google Play and pick up Gameloft’s The Amazing Spider-Man.
