Smuggle Truck – Android Game Review

Smuggle Truck – Android Game Review

General

Smuggling was an American pastime back in the bootlegging days of old, but it was a pretty dangerous business. Thanks to a new Android Game called Smuggle Truck you can now experience the thrills of smuggling from the comfort of your couch. The catch is you won’t be smugglin’ hooch in a souped up hotrod, instead you’ll be smuggling people or cuddly little animals in a beat up old truck.

Gameplay

Smuggle Truck is a physics-based driving game that puts you to work trying to smuggle escort some fine folks to the border on each level. You move your truck by pressing right or left on the screen, and you’ll tilt your phone to try and keep things smooth when the road gets bumpy. You’ll notice the games physics as soon as you accelerate so you’ll want to get the “tilting” down pat pretty quickly. If you manage to snag a powerup you can activate it by double tapping or shaking your phone, but that’s basically it for the gameplay. Smuggle Truck is very simple to play, but very, very difficult to master as you’ll soon find out.

Features

The graphics and gameplay are definitely awesome, but the one thing that really hooked me on the game was its depth. Do ya’ like levels? Smuggle Truck has well over 10,000 of them. That isn’t a typo… I said “over” 10,000 levels. The game itself has between 40 and 50 levels that range from easy to extreme, but the user created levels are a whole different story. The Level Portal lets you browse levels by search, newest, and top rated. You can use the in-game level editor to make and submit your own levels which makes the depth factor go through the roof as you could literally play the game forever.

Verdict

Smuggle Truck is an awesome Android game that really has it all. The graphics are excellent, the gameplay is fun, and saying that it’s a unique game would be an understatement. It’s also very cool (and rare) to see a game with no in-app purchases or ads, so kudos to the team at Owlchemy Labs for going old school and actually releasing a full game. Owlchemy Labs cares too guys…if smuggling immigrants isn’t your style you can “Snuggle” some toy animals across the border. That’s right, there’s a separate version called Snuggle Truck that’s great for the kids or any “sensitive” gamers out there. Both flavors of Smuggle Truck will set you back $3.99 which is dirt cheap considering the quality of the game and the truly endless gameplay. If you’re ready to smuggle some immigrants and catch a few babies head on over to Google Play and check out Owlchemy Labs Smuggle Truck.
