It’s no secret that we love Retro android games, so we got pretty excited when we noticed a new Android game called Bean’s Quest from Kumobius. Bean’s Quest is retro platforming at its finest, and it involves one of my favorite childhood toys… the jumping bean!
The story behind Bean’s Quest is a funny one as you’ll play a regular guy named Emilio who’s having a bit of bad luck. His pet has gone missing, his girlfriends been stolen, and to beat it all he was cursed by dark magic and turned into a damned Jumping Bean. Your job is to turn Emilio’s frown upside down as you bounce through the levels while trying to rescue your senorita and find you pet axolotls. Bean’s Quest gives gamers 5 crazy worlds and over 150 challenges to complete, you also get a killer soundtrack and more pixely goodness than you can shake a stick at.
Verdict
I love to stumble across awesome new games like Bean’s Quest, as it’s a nice refreshing change from the half the games I sort through every day. It’s really got everything you’d want from a retro platformer and you get to play as a Jumping Bean… how cool is that? I’ll definitely do a full write up on this little gem in a few days, so be sure to check back with us. There isn’t a free version of the game available right now, but the full version of Bean’s Quest is well worth the $3.19 price tag.
