Mobage releases D.O.T. Defender of Texel for Android

General

Sometimes an Android game grabs your attention with descriptive words like 8-bit, robots, and dragons. When you can combine all those and then throw in things like

“character fusing” you get a game like D.O.T. Defender of Texel from Mobage. You also quickly grab my attention as how cool is an 8-bit game with robots & dragons?

D.O.T. Defender of Texel is the story of Texel, a peaceful pixel planet that’s never known war or death. Threee immortal tribes resided there in peace until an alien invasion came down from the heavens to break up their tranquility. You come into the game (literally) as a gamer sucked into their galactic struggle where you’ll have to band the tribes together and teach them the ways of war. The game consists of taking on missions and boss battles, building new warriors and fusing gear. The battles are definitely different and to be quite honest I’m still trying to wrap my head around the game. There is a lengthy help section of sorts, but it’s not the type of game you can just jump straight into.

I was pretty pumped when I stumbled across D.O.T. Defender of Texel this morning, but my enthusiasm dropped a notch when I actually got into the game. The storyline, artwork, and premise of building warriors is cool, but so far actually doing these things hasn’t been as much fun as I imagined it would be. That being said, I’m very early into the game and still learning so it’s not going to hit that uninstall button yet. If you’d like to give it a go you can pick up Mobage’s D.O.T. Defender of Texel for free on Google Play.
