CAPCOM DOMINATES 2026 WITH STELLAR GAME RELEASES, PRAGMATA EMERGES AS BREAKOUT HIT

Capcom is having the year of its life. After years of rebuilding its reputation following a rocky period in the early 2010s, the Japanese gaming giant has proven it can deliver consistently excellent experiences across multiple franchises while still taking risks on entirely new properties.

The momentum started in February with Resident Evil Requiem achieving an impressive 89 overall rating, making it one of the highest-rated games of the year and among the highest-rated RE games ever made. The title now exceeds 6 million units sold, the fastest that a title in the series has reached this milestone. But the real surprise has been Pragmata, Capcom’s brand new intellectual property that launched on April 17.

Both Capcom games have launched to overwhelmingly positive critical reception and they seem to be fan-favorites in 2026. Pragmata is an action-adventure game developed and published by Capcom, set on a lunar research station where spacefarer Hugh and android Diana work together to fight a hostile AI and return to Earth. On Steam, the game holds an Overwhelmingly Positive rating with 97 percent of 3,827 user reviews being positive.

Nintendo has managed to captivate the gaming zeitgeist with Pokemon Pokopia, but right up there at the top of the current frontrunners has to be Resident Evil Requiem and Pragmata. With more content planned for Street Fighter 6 and the upcoming Onimusha Way of the Sword later this year, Capcom shows no signs of slowing down.
