Gamevil releases New Boxing Game Punch Hero for Android

General

I’ve been a fan of Boxing Games since Punch Out in the 80s, so I was pretty excited to hear Gamevil was releasing a Boxing Game. Now that Punch Hero has finally arrived I can honestly say it was well worth the wait.

Controls can make or break a boxing game, and luckily Punch Hero’s controls are easy to use and remember. You can throw jabs, hooks, and uppercuts while bobbing and blocking. There’s also a punch called “Lethal Mega Punch” you can use when your Rage Gauge is full, but apparently you have to buy that punch first. When you win a bout you’re awarded skill points that can be used to upgrade your character, but you’ll also get cool swag to decorate your character with. Punch Hero has a few different game modes to go along with several different shops so there looks to be plenty to do.

Verdict

I haven’t spent a lot of time with Punch Hero yet, but did play through a few quick bouts and the fights were a lot of fun. The difficulty seems to be just about right as well; I could wail on my opponents, but you do have to block or move or you’re going to take some damage. We’ll have more on this one next week, until then if you’re a fan of Boxing Games Punch Hero looks like a good one to get. You can pick up Punch Hero for free on Google Play.
