We’re always on the lookout for new Indies and A Lighthearted Game definitely fits that bill. It’s a game about life, death, and limbo as you try and help the hapless Pete make it from one stage to the next.
The hero of A Lighthearted Game is named Pete, and Pete was struck by a car which sends him into a netherworld between this life and the next. Your goal is to guide Pete into the light, but the way you get around in A Lighthearted Game is what makes things interesting. The ghostly version of Pete rides his own aura around to get to around, and while you can move around on the bubble you can’t hit any walls or enemies.
There is a jump button as well, but you’ll have to time things carefully or you’ll end up losing some life. You also only have so many ‘heartbeats’ to get through a level, and when you run out you’ll have to restart the level. Needless to say, things get pretty tricky when the levels get bigger as you’ll have to avoid ghouls and aim for power-ups while timing your jumps.
A Lighthearted Game is a unique platform game with an interesting premise; it’s also quite a bit of fun. The free version of the game gives you 7 levels to try while the full version gives you 27 levels for only a buck. You can download either version of Terncraft’s A Lighthearted Game on Google Play.
