There are quite a few Android games that let you play the role of a criminal, but Chillingo’s Robbery Bob takes things up a notch. Bob is known as “The Man of Steal” and with good reason as he’s one of the sneakiest dudes around…
Every criminal has his day and Robbery Bob had his as he was locked up, before being busted out by a couple of gangsters. Now that you’re out you’ll have to do a few more jobs as payment for your escape which is where the fun comes in. You’ll have to sneak Bob through houses and steal everything you can get your hands on. You can snag everything from forks to TV remotes, but you’ll have to be careful as the houses aren’t always empty. As the game progresses and things get tough you’ll want to use some of your hard earned loot to upgrade Bob and there are quite a few to choose from. You can deck him out as a Ninja or Bunny, use teleporters, turn invisible, and upgrade a few stats like stamina and speed. I’m not sure how big of a game Robbery Bob is yet, but there looks to be around 50 levels set in three different locations along with some bonus levels.
Chillingo usually puts out solid games and Robbery Bob is no exception. There seems to be plenty of depth, and needless to say it’s a lot of fun sneaking in and out of houses as a thief. The only issue I’ve had with the game is poor ad placement. It does hamper things a bit during gameplay and can expand to take up half the screen while you’re in the menus.
