Pocket Planes is the newest game from the folks at Mobage, and if you’re into airline sims it looks to be a good one to get. It has the graphical look of Tiny Tower (not a bad thing), but involves planes, passengers, and over 250 cities scattered around the globe.
Pocket Planes lets you manage a fleet of planes where you’ll pick up passengers & cargo so you can transport them around the world. You’ll get to unlock and customize all sorts of planes and you can even pick out your own paint jobs and pilot uniforms. As you’d expect your goal in Pocket Planes is to keep your passengers happy, your seats filled, and your planes flying. You’ll also want to try and build your airline into the best around which means they’ll be lots of upgrades as you progress through the game. Last but not least you can trade plane parts with your buddies and compete in worldwide events.
Pocket Planes seems to be a solid airline sim, and as a fan of Tiny Tower it’s one I’m sure I’ll check out. The only reason I haven’t done so already is the fact that they require you to login via Facebook or make a Mobage account which I personally think is a pain in the ass. It may not be that big of a deal, but who wants to setup an account or link to BookFace (some of us don’t use FB) just to ‘see’ if you like a game. Anywho, if you like sims or enjoyed Tiny Tower you’ll probably dig Pocket Planes, and you can pick it up for free on Google Play.
