Virtual Pets can come in all shapes and sizes including turtles, monsters, and bricks. Yup, you can now make best friends, love and raise your own pet brick in Brick Buddies from Flarb.
Bricks are hard, cold, and generally used for building things, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have feelings and they don’t make excellent pets. Brick Buddies lets you find out just how fun a Brick can be and how much joy a simple inanimate object can bring into your life. When you pet your brick you’ll earn heart s which can be used to buy new swag for your brick and your brick also just loves a good petting. If your brick is hungry feed you can feed it, and you can even buy fancy duds to dress up your brick if you feel like taking it out for a night on the town. There are plenty of different hats it can wear, and there are even a few different backdrops you can buy with your pebbles. As you level up (through petting) you’re given the ability to buy new pet bricks like the bulky but kind Cinder Block or the luxurious Gold Brick.
Verdict
I’ve played with several of the different virtual pet games available for Android and Brick Buddies has to be one of my favorites for the sheer awkwardness of the whole thing. Pet Rocks were a big fad back in the day, and while I don’t think we’re going to see a new Pet Brick fad the app is still a lot of fun. Brick Buddies might not be the most exciting game out there, but it’s the most easy to care for virtual pet you’ll ever own and you can ever earn a few pebbles by turning on your GPS and taking your brick out on the town with you.
