We cover our share of strange Android games, and this week is no different. This week’s game is appropriately dubbed Weird Games and it comes to us courtesy of the folks at Fullbrand and Promineo Studios.
Weird Games is a series of mini-games that plays like “Feats of Strength” as each game lets you show the world how manly you are. As the name implies, these aren’t your typical mini-games – there are only two at the moment, and both are quite weird. First up you’ve got Telephone Booth Lifting which has you tap a button to help your mustachioed strongman hold up a phone booth. The other mini-game is called Book Club Rowing and it puts you in command of a boat full of literary strongmen. Again, you simply need to tap at the appropriate time to get the boat moving.
There are three other events in Weird Games that are listed as coming soon with Gentlemen Wrestling, Pinky Lifting, and Tickling Exercise. You can’t play them yet, but you can watch a brief video showing the action. The games are certainly weird, but what’s weirder is the fact that the artwork and animations are extremely well done while the gameplay itself is subpar. We’ve played a lot of tap games, and these just aren’t much fun unfortunately.
Verdict
The Weird Games is an awesome idea, and the artwork along with the soundtrack fit the game perfectly. There’s just not enough to the game which sucks as there’s a lot of potential, but not much fun to be had at the moment. That being said, I love the concept and plan on having a few matches of Gentlemen Wrestling whenever it becomes active. If you want to give it a whirl, you can pick up Weird Games for free on Google Play.
