Overview
GA 1: An Assassin in Orlandes is a new “Choose your adventure” game from Tin Man Games. The tagline of the game is a fitting one as Choose your Path… Roll your Fate! fits the game to a tee. Like old school RPG’s that let you make your own decisions? If so An Assassin in Orlandes is just the thing for you…
The concept behind GA 1: An Assassin in Orlandes is a simple one that’s tried and true. The game unfolds as you flip through the pages of a book and make decisions that will affect your characters journey. If you find a group beating up on a man in an alley… will you stop them or ignore the situation and continue along your way? If you kill someone should you rob the body and risk being caught? It’s situations like these that make the game, and make it a lot of fun. It’s not as simple as your average “Choose your own Adventure” book though, you’ll actually get to roll for stats when you start out and you’ll roll to attack, defend, etc… just like you would in D & D. Options like bookmarks and adjustable fonts make the game easy to play for anyone, and there are plenty of achievements to collect if you want to go all out and explore the full story.
Verdict
I grew up in the days of Choose your own Adventure books and Dungeons & Dragons role-playing, so it’s nice to see someone take technology to bring an old style of game to life. An Assassin in Orlandes interface is clean and easy to use, so beginners or pros should have no problem picking the game up and getting started. I highly recommend the game to anyone that loves a good old school adventure game or D & D style adventures. There isn’t a free version to check out at this time, but the full version will only set you back $4.99. You can find Tin Man Games GA 1: An Assassin in Orlandes on Google Play.
