Way back in 1983 an Adventure Board Game hit the shelves by the name of Talisman: The Magical Quest. 30 years later and we just got an Android version of the classic with the newly released Talisman Prologue HD.
The original Talisman game put players on an epic adventure as they tried to make their way through the outer region towards the Crown of Command. Talisman Prologue HD still requires you to take that central position, and you’ll do so through rolling dice and drawing cards. Some board games have trouble making the transition, but from what I’ve seen Talisman Prologue HD handles everything nicely. As the name implies, it’s a Prologue to the original game, and as some folks have found out it’s more of an adaption at the moment than a full-fledged game, and it’s a great way to “learn” the game before the full-version drops later this summer.
I vaguely remember hearing about Talisman back in the day, but never got around to playing it as I was a bit young for complicated board games at the time. NES also had most of my attention in the 80s. I heard nothing but good things about the original game as well as the newly released prequel, and I look forward to checking out Talisman Prologue HD later this week. The multiplayer game is set to be released this summer, but the single player version of Talisman Prologue HD can be had for $4.99.
