As CES 2012 got underway yesterday, I had an eye out for gaming news and while it was sparse on the first day of the show there was some cool news from Madfinger Games makers of a little shooter called Shadowgun.
Shadowgun came into the market a few months back and while we knew it would look good, it still blew everyone away. It’s as close as you’re likely to get to console style gaming on your phone, and the game just got better as Madfinger announced Shadowgun: Deadzone. The newest game in the series gives players gamepad support, voice chat, and a ranking system. You might be thinking “Why voice chat?” Well, that’s due to the fact that Shadowgun: Deadzone will support 8-player online multiplayer!! If that wasn’t enough, we’ve been promised new weapons, news moves, and 8 different characters along with several different modes of play including deathmatch and team deathmatch. The pictures below are from the original version as we weren’t able to get ahold of screens for Deadzone yet.
A lot of us knew this one was coming, but it’s still great to hear Madfinger say Q1 of 2012 which is anytime time. As awesome as the new iteration sounds gamers will be hit with one minor drawback as it will debut exclusively on Tegra 3 devices. No word when it will be available for all devices, but hopefully it will be in Q2 as some of us don’t have the Transformer Prime pre-ordered. We’ll let you know as soon as it’s released, until then enjoy the original Shadowgun if you haven’t already.
