One of the first projects I ever backed online was on Appbackr. The name of the game was Old School Defense, and while it wasn’t successful there it looks like it finally got an Android release yesterday.
Old School Defense isn’t your typical Tower Defense game. It’s actually based off the cult classic film Old School, a movie I think it’s safe to say most of us have seen. The game has you defend your frat house against party crashers and pledges as they’re out to get your beloved beer. The gameplay is pretty straightforward and the game offers up 30 different maps and 2 different modes set around the Lambda Epsilon Omega house. A lot of the characters from the film are represented in the game including fan favorites Blue, Frank, and Peppers.
Old School Defense isn’t the game I thought it would be, but it doesn’t mean it’s a bad game. I’ve only gone through the first few maps and while the gameplay is solid, I’m honestly not sure what to make of it yet.
