Just a few days ago we brought you news of a Transformers virtual card game headed to Android entitled ‘Transformers Battle’. DeNa, the company behind the Transformers upcoming game and who have already had success with ‘Rage of Bahamut’ are also behind the upcoming Avengers virtual card game.
Virtual card games have been popular in Japan for a while but, have not yet taken the US or the rest of the world by storm. However, with the upcoming Transformers Battle and now Marvel: War of Heroes, DeNA hope to change this. Marvel: War of Heroes sounds to be similar to Transformers Battle but, obviously with Avenger characters instead of Autobots and Decepticons. There are around 200 different cards to collect in the game featuring both good and evil characters. There will be single player campaigns in the game, along with team based battles and PvP tournaments.
Full details surrounding the game’s storyline are expected to be released in the next few weeks, as well as videos and photos of the upcoming game. The full character set also hasn’t been unveiled yet but, we do know that Iron Man, The Hulk, Captain America and Thor will be in the game. It has also been confirmed that Spider-Man will also be making an appearance in the game and will join forces with the good guys. DeNa have also let on that once the game is released, they will be adding new events and characters so that the gameplay is continually evolving.
Marvel: War of Heroes is due to be released sometime this Fall and will be a free download. However, there may be in-game purchases although, exact details are thin on the ground at present.
