Racing games are always popular, and who doesn’t love blowing things up with a tank? Thanks to Fire & Forget Final Assault you can drive, fly, and fire… from a tank. Yup, it’s a flying tank game and it’s also a remake of the old Amiga game Fire and Forget.
Fire & Forget drops you into a world that’s been ravaged by nuclear war. A terrorist organization is set to deliver the death knell to mankind, and it’s up to you to stop them with a little help from your flying tank known as the Thunder Master III. It’s a pretty awesome name for a flying tank, and thanks to its double cannon and missile launcher, it lives up to its namesake. Each level requires you to avoid obstacles and destroy enemies, and there are plenty of both as you zip across the devastated landscapes. By the numbers, Fire & Forget Final Assault offers up 10 stages and 3 levels of difficulty.
I never played the original version of Fire & Forget, but did give the remake a brief whirl. Final Assault isn’t a bad game, but there’s not a lot to it and it lacks the charm of similar games like Carmageddon. If you played the original you’ll probably want to pick this one up, if not you may want to wait for a demo version if Anuman decides to put one out. You can pick up Fire & Forget Final Assault for $1.99 on Google Play.
