If you're playing Hogwarts Legacy, the new action role-playing game set in the wizarding world of Harry Potter, you might be wondering how to unlock and use the Alohomora spell.
In this guide, we'll show you how to get this handy spell and use it to unlock doors and chests throughout the game.
Unlocking Alohomora in Hogwarts Legacy is an important step for any aspiring witch or wizard. To obtain this spell, players must progress through the main quests until they reach The Caretaker's Lunar Lament, where it will be granted to them.
As you progress through the main questline in Hogwarts Legacy, you'll encounter various locked doors, chests, and gates that can be opened with the Alohomora Charm.
This charm, also known as the Unlocking Charm, is the last Essential Spell that you can unlock in the game. To learn the Alohomora Charm, you'll need to complete two main quests:
This quest will be prompted after you discover the location of the Map Chamber underneath Hogwarts. Completing the first of Professor Rackham's four ancient magic trials will open up the second mandatory quest to unlock Alohomora.
To start this quest, make your way to the Reception Hall in Hogwarts and talk to Gladwin Moon. Mr. Moon will teach you the Alohomora Charm, which you can use to get into a restricted castle section during the quest.
To utilize Alohomora in Hogwarts Legacy, you must first interact with a lock and cast the Unlocking Charm. This will activate a lockpicking mini-game that you must solve to gain access to the locked area.
Note that Alohomora can only be used on locks that are marked with a glowing keyhole. If you approach a lock that is not marked, the Alohomora spell won't work.
The mini-game is simple to follow, requiring you to move the inner and outer circles gradually until the gears in the lower right (Green) and middle (Red) begin rotating.
