It’s been awhile since we’ve seen anything from Chillingo, but that just changed as they’ve dropped 3 games this week. Harry the Fairy is one of their newest titles, and to call the game quirky would be an understatement as you’ll be playing a green fairy that floats around in bubble.
Harry the Fairy is the tale of a little green fairy by the name Harry who’s on a mission to rescue his friends. Even though he has wings, he prefers to travel in a bubble as it will shield him from sharp objects like drills, spinning spikes, and several other deadly objects. You basically have to float through the levels avoiding danger and collecting starts until you free your friend at the end of each level. The full game has 28 levels spread across four different areas including caves, lava pits, and an inferno. There are no real extras to speak of, but you do have the option to set the game up to play on a tablet or phone which is a nice touch.
Verdict
I played Harry the Fairy on a tablet so I used the joystick setup initially and found it to be a little too easy to be honest. Switching to the phone/tilt controls did the trick though and added a much needed degree of difficulty to things. Harry the Fairy is definitely a solid game, but I would have liked to see a little more of it as you only get 7 measly levels before you’re asked to buy the full version. If you’d like to give it a go, you can find Chillingo’s Harry the Fairy on Google Play.
