Warhammer Skulls 2026 Delivers Major Franchise Announcements in 10th Anniversary Celebration

The Warhammer Skulls video games festival is turning 10 editions old this year, and Games Workshop pulled out all the stops with a showcase that finally ended years of speculation about several highly anticipated titles. Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II has officially launched today as part of the opening celebrations for the 2026 edition of the Warhammer Skulls festival, surprising fans who had been waiting since the game’s initial reveal two years ago.

Actor, writer, director and Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 Battle Sister herself, Alanah Pearce, is in the hosting chair for our anniversary bash, adding star power to an already stacked presentation. The nearly 50-minute showcase delivered far more than just Mechanicus 2, however. Dawn of War IV will be released on September 17, it was revealed, with Commander editions pre-orders getting early access on September 14, marking a triumphant return for the beloved strategy franchise.

Perhaps most exciting for live-service fans, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is getting a new DLC that brings a brand new playable and fan-requested class: the Skitarii, who are arriving on Tertium on June 23. Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is getting its third DLC, The Infinite Museion, on June 11, with the story expansion adding a Tech-Priest Manipulus companion.

The Warhammer Skulls 2026 live showcase streamed globally and quickly became one of the biggest gaming events for Warhammer fans this year, signaling Games Workshop’s aggressive expansion into gaming. Which announcement has you most hyped for the year ahead?
