Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core Enters the Fray – Your Guide to the Hottest Co-op Roguelite
The countdown is officially over as Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core launches into Steam Early Access on May 20th at 18:00 CEST, and the mining community couldn’t be more hyped. This marks the second DRG spin-off to arrive within the last eight months, following the successful Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor that launched last September.
What makes Rogue Core so compelling right now? Ghost Ship Games is taking everything fans loved about the original and cranking up the intensity. The difficulty increases drastically as you progress in a mission, contrary to Deep Rock Galactic where the difficulty is more consistent from mission start to mission end. Players join the elite Reclaimers, an emergency security force deployed after a mysterious event called The Greyout cuts off all mining operations on planet Hoxxes IV.
The developers expect Rogue Core to be in Early Access for 18 to 24 months, with Ghost Ship Games committing to the same community-driven development approach that made the original a massive hit. The franchise has already sold over eight million units as of January 2024, cementing its place in co-op gaming history.
There’s even a special Rogue Core crossover event running in DRG where players can volunteer for duty fighting Core Spawn outbreaks to earn a shiny Reclaimer combat axe. The synergy between both games keeps the community engaged across both titles.
Are you ready to descend into the darkness? Will Rogue Core become your next gaming obsession, or are you sticking with the original Deep Rock formula?
