With its April 16, 2026 release date just days away, MOUSE P.I. For Hire has become one of the most anticipated indie shooters of the year, and the hype train shows no signs of slowing down. The game has recently surpassed 1.5 million wishlists on Steam, signaling massive player interest in this unique blend of noir detective work and frenetic first-person action.
Developed by Poland-based Fumi Games and published by PlaySide Studios, MOUSE blends fast-paced boomer shooter action with noir detective storytelling, all wrapped in a hand-drawn 1930s black-and-white cartoon aesthetic. What sets this title apart is its commitment to authenticity. The soundtrack features original compositions by Patryk Scelina, plus a brand-new track from French jazz powerhouse Caravan Palace, recorded live across sessions in Georgia and Poland.
Early previews have been overwhelmingly positive. Critics report that MOUSE P.I. For Hire is so much more than a pretty face, with Troy Baker delivering a stellar performance as Jack Pepper. The campaign runs between 12 and 20 hours, featuring over 20 levels across 10-plus biomes with fluid movement mechanics including wall-running, grappling hooks, and double-jumps.
